LOVE the Word® is a Bible study method based on Mary’s own practice: lectio without the Latin. Get the book based on Sonja’s method in the right margin, How to Pray Like Mary.

L – Listen (Receive the Word via audio or video.)

O – Observe (Connect the passage to your life and recent events.)

Read about the youth from St. Catherine of Siena parish, in Austin, Texas, who witness to the life and dignity of every person through their prayer and action against the death penalty. In your family, neighborhood, school, or parish, how might you be called to act with others to protect human life and dignity? What can you do to serve your own life and dignity more fully?

V – Verbalize (Pray about your thoughts and emotions.)

Remembering that He loves you and that you are in His presence, talk to God about the particulars of your O – Observe step. You may want to write your reflections in your LOVE the Word® journal. Or, get a free journal page and guide in the right-hand margin.

E – Entrust (May it be done to me according to your word!)

Lord and Creator, help us honor the dignity of all people, especially those in whom Your face may be difficult to recognize. Inspire us to help protect human life in all its stages, at home and around the world. Amen +

  1. Thank you for this lesson on social justice. Your story about your nephew was inspiring. My brother suffers from ALS. And he and his wife are two very special people. I love your point that we are all children of God. Some people have forgotten that.looking forward to the next lesson
